Kai (Esprit D'Air & The Sisters Of Mercy)

Kai is a musician, producer and multidisciplinary artist best known as the founder and creative force behind Japanese electronic metal band Esprit D'Air, as well as guitarist and writer for rock band The Sisters of Mercy.
Working independently across music, performance, visual concepts and publishing, Kai has built Esprit D'Air into an internationally recognised project, releasing multiple albums and touring extensively across the UK and Europe. The project's most recent album, Aeons, reached #1 on the UK's Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart without a record label or management.
As a resident at Islington Mill, Kai is developing new music and creative projects while exploring new approaches to composition, collaboration and live performance. His work often combines heavy and electronic music with Japanese songwriting, atmospheric sound design and an independent DIY approach to production and release.
