10ft 1 and Growing is a company set up and run by Artists Karen Morrissey and Jo Carlon.
Working within the community and private sector both artists have undertaken a number of projects including community arts, commissions and group work. Current and past projects include Life Mapping, which is a project that involves collecting objects, images, sounds that have been developed and become life mapping memories. The final art work completed ranges from sculpture, 3d, 2d and installation work.

Currently working on a joint project at Islington Mill which is expected to be exhibited Feb 09. The work examines the cultural values and inspirations which influence us in a media bombarded/dominated culture.
The work comprises of different sections of society i.e. war, politics, nature and crime/punishment. The final artwork will be 6ft screens of collage that is taken from poplular culture and newspapers. With a strong empasis on the reycling of throw away items. Text is used in a poetical and reflective sense, drawing from thoughts that are personalised from the individual perspective in an attempt to travel beyond social thoughts to a broader perspective.

Poetry readers/writers will be performing at the exhibition.
